So, assume that via "mild" or "wild"
parapsychological examples, Neuro-Kinetik has identified neuroanatomical sites,
relevant to these phenomena.
[This is an easy "after-the fact" statement.] Yet, on a simplistic level:
functionally engaged anatomical sites are shown and confirmed by imaging
technology. Move your fingers, and the motor area of the brain dealing with that
part of the body is shown to be activated.
Given the above...What is next?
(After the brain sites relevant to PK, etc. have been identified.)
A possible answer: Develop these capacities in anyone, using training accessories.
To step back a moment: training implies a realizable goal, and a perception of progress in relation to that goal. (I.e., action A causes the goal to be nearer, while action B does not.) Ultimately, if your brain was in the same state as that of a "psychic", you could replicate the actions alluded to in the section of this brochure, entitled: Extrapolations.
In current practice, an arrangement of goal, and monitoring equipment are routinely used by clinical practitioners, (Expl: Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback or International Society for Neurofeedback & Research , to alter bodily manifestations such as heart rate, temperature, EEG patterns, and so forth. Second generation medical imaging equipment can record 3D brain activity patterns. Again, a simple example: Move your arm, and the relevant neuro-anatomical sites are displayed. Happily, the equipment is constantly getting cheaper and better.) Neuro-Kinetik is partial to high density EEG and open fMRI. Some of the other technical alternatives include: PET, SPECT, gamma ray, Doppler ultrasonic color, etc..
Thus, the hardware half of the proposed undertaking essentially consist of "off the shelf" items, albeit, on the expensive side.
Now, with the "scanned exemplar" as a model, and with one's real-time, personal (high density) EEG brainscan in a biofeedback loop, a training regimen, to evoke new capacities could proceed.
Academically, [again], animal models could be considered: The identified anatomical sites could be structurally strengthened. Antibodies tagged with vascularizing hormones could ensure copious nutrient delivery, leading to increased local activity at the relevant nuclei. Or, stimulation, delivered via focused ultrasound might be a modality of choice, to potentiate the desired changes.
So, what could a "psychic" accomplish, that is of immediate utility? Recognizing, that once the various phenomena are studied, understood, and replicated, their magnitude will be likely be amplified.
[And, at times, magnitude is everything.]
On the "we'll believe it, when we see it" side, there is heat resistance, (as with " fire walkers "). Of potential interest not only to fire departments, but to safety personnel at foundries, oil refineries, and the like. People able to withstand searing temperatures, would always be in demand. Incremental training would [of course], minimize potential mishaps along the learning curve. [A finger held to a candle is less vulnerable, than a hand in a pot of boiling oil.]
A related effect, puncture resistance, holds
an equally great promise. [As in: reclining on a "bed of nails".] (No more
difficult to work with than heat resistance, in the abstract.) The Armed Forces
are constantly worried about solders being punctured: barbed wire, bayonets,
etc.. When a few subjects are trained in this modality, someone might notice.
A more trivial but neutral application might be colored diamonds, that are
currently made by irradiation. As "spoon benders" interact with molecular
structure, this could be the new equivalent of coffee mug sales at art fairs.
An other obvious option might be in the medical
prosthetics field. For, if clairvoyance has any basis in fact, routine eyeless
vision for the blind is merely decades away, given our paradigm.
